The Purpose of Data Analysis

The analysis of data is a crucial part of every study. Research credibility is damaged and findings are rendered useless when poor analysis is used (Basit, 2003). It is essential to carefully select your data analysis methods to ensure that your findings are insightful and actionable.

Method of Data Analysis Selected

Once all data has been collected via online surveys and follow-up interviews, the data will be transcribed in order to initiate the data analysis process. The first step is a comprehensive reading of the data to familiarize oneself with it (Maher et al., 2018). Next, I will employ NVivo or Dedoose software to code the data. In order to organize and make meaning of textual data, coding is one of the crucial stages performed during analysis. The information will be subjected to thematic analysis. Using this technique, motifs will be extracted from the participant’s responses.

I will begin by using inductive coding to extract data without knowing the themes in order to eradicate any potential bias. The objective of inductive analysis is to permit themes to emerge more naturally, without attempting to predict them beforehand. In addition, to ensure that other essential themes are not overlooked by focusing on my hypothesis. Then, each theme will be examined, identified, and reported upon. Using a thematic approach will enable me to identify any similarities in the responses of the participants. The analysis of the data will be presented in chapter four by themes.

Response 2.) Mary

A qualitative study, a summary of the purpose, intends to conduct a data analysis to explore why women in the culinary industry are not advancing professionally at the same rate as men. The research data to delve deep into the study’s problem includes a review of literature, face-to-face semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, and focus groups using the descriptive approach (Burkholder et al., 2020). Data is collected and interpreted, and the findings are categorized for interpretation and processing. Information will be extracted from the data to help address the problem. The tools that will be used for the study will include Dovetail and Thematic to help analyze the analysis. Whether the study will use a thematic or phenomenology approach is being questioned.

Chapter 4 will utilize the data analysis to highlight and describe the problem by presenting the findings of the study’s research using tables to give the data highlighting themes discovered (Stringer, 2014). The tables will include the results of the findings necessary to address the study’s problem. A conclusion will be provided on the study’s data findings.
