Description of the assessment
You will be required to produce a ten-minute narrated electronic academic poster examining the evidence base for a public health intervention. We will require you to demonstrate an understanding as to how research and epidemiological data informs initiatives and interventions and how research can measure the impact of interventions. This will enable your work to be assessed on the modules learning outcomes.

Assessment Content
The academic poster should be structured in 4 clear sections using the following subheadings:
- Intervention – what is the initiative/health promotion intervention ?
- Justification: Background and key findings
- Pre and post intervention data/evidence
- Research proposal
The following should be considered:
- Visual elements, images, graphs and charts.
- Clear headings with bullet points for easy reading.
- Key evidence to be cited on the poster (minimum of 10), further evidence to support to be provided in the narration (Harvard referencing). Full reference to be submitted separately via Turnitin.
- Feedback and rubric.
- Student number.
Guidance for developing the poster, recording your narration and submission format must be followed.
A proforma is provided to support you in developing your poster and there is time factored into the timetable for supportive tutorials and discussions around your chosen intervention.

Assessment AI-assistance
In this assessment AI-assistance is permitted in the following ways:
- Brainstorm ideas: g. generating possible public health campaign themes before designing their own.
- Plan and structure: g. asking for suggested structures for a case study report, then adapting to meet module requirements.
- Clarify understanding: g. using AI to explain the difference between safeguarding and child protection, then confirming this with academic and professional sources.

- Reference support: e.g. formatting references into Harvard style (checking each for accuracy).
- Critical engagement: g. including a section where they critique an AI-generated care plan, comparing it with evidence-based practice.
In this assessment AI-assistance should not be used for:
- Submit AI-written work as their own: g. pasting an AI-generated essay on mental health interventions directly into their assignment.
- Generate entire assessments: g. using AI to produce a complete case study analysis or reflective account.
- Fabricate references: AI sometimes invents journal articles or NHS policies — these must not be used.
- Bypass learning outcomes: g. if the assessment is to develop reflective writing, students cannot outsource this reflection to AI.
- Enter confidential data: g. inputting details of real patients, service users, or placement experiences into external tools.
