Assignment Details
Instructions
- Download the Excel Spreadsheet called “AFT excel assignment data” from Moodle, and follow the instructions provided:
- Using the spreadsheet provided and :
- Provide appropriate use of the totals formula.
- Use the average formula is a way that improves the presentation of the data.
- Identify those numbers that are above or below the targets provided.
- Work out average deviation, using the formula and proving your result.
- Insert a new worksheet at the beginning of the workbook and complete the following:
- Name the worksheet “Functions”
- Display the current date and time in Cell B2 and label accordingly.
- Type in cell D2 type your name.
- In a cell beside it convert the text to uppercase using an appropriate function.
- Using a formula, split your name into 2 seperate cells o Using a formula, put your name back to one cell o You should always leave the original name in place.
- Link the information required per the instructions – information typed in will receive zero marks.
- In the products sheet:
- Use data validation as instructed
- Filter the required setting as instructed and copy into another spreadsheet, returning all filters back to starting position on the original sheet
- Provide two charts that you believe are relevant to the work provided, on a seperate worksheet. You must provide a one-line description on why that chart was chosen and the what it achieved.
- Using the scenarios function worksheet, complete the scenarios provided.
- Using a seperate pivot worksheet, create an approriate pivot table of the ‘Product sheet”. This should display the data in an effective, flexible, and professional manner. Include at least 4 pivot table fields.
Then arrange one column in ascending order, and highlight this.
Marks are given for presentation of the PIVOT table.
- Create a macro that automatically arranges three windows within the file to be viewed vertically. You may have to create more windows in order to view them together as it is only one file with different worksheets. Use a keyboard shortcut and give the macro a logical name. You must put the shortcut into a cell on the
“Functions” sheet.
As a result of creating this macro you will need to save the file in a macro enabled workbook. To reeive the marks the macro must work when it is downloaded from Moodle.
- Marks are awarded for an overall consistent layout in your assignment.
