Background
Rolling Meadows is a well-established, privately-owned nursing home and assisted living center in a suburban area. They have 120 residents and 150 employees, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and others. The organization has striven to be a community grounded in the Christian values of compassion, dignity and service.
A significant portion of RNs and LPNs at Rolling Meadows are over 55 years old and have announced their intentions to retire in the next 3-5 years. This presents the challenge of manpower loss, skill loss, and the loss of the unique spirit and relational care that define Rolling Meadows. Local population demographics show an approaching surge in senior-seniors (age 85+) who are more likely to need specialized care and younger- seniors (65-80) who prefer active, community-focused living.
