This assignment measures your mastery of ULO 4.3.
How do individuals learn to lead? That is the question your magazine editor has asked you to answer in your first assignment as a new reporter for a national magazine. Leadership is a subject you are not completely familiar with, but one that will allow you to learn about the importance of a leader to an organization.
The editor has requested you write a four-page article addressing the following:
- Explain in depth how individuals learn to lead. Give three techniques used to develop leadership skills.
- Explain the importance of competent leaders in an organization. Give examples.
- Explain why some organizations with “bad” leaders succeed, while some organizations with “good” leaders fail. Give examples.
- Explore ways organizations can determine the success or failure of the organization’s leader outside of sales or profits.
Be sure to include an interesting, compelling title and at least one graphic or photograph to ensure the article will visually entice magazine subscribers or potential readers.
You must use at least two sources to support your assignment. One source must be from the CSU Online Library. Your submission should be at least four pages in length, not counting the reference page. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment.
