You will be graded not only for the quality of your posting but also for the level of your participation in this discussion. Your initial post is due by Wednesday at 11:59 P.M. (MT) of the week in which the discussion is assigned. A minimum of two (2) additional response posts are due by Sunday at 11:59 P.M. (MT). Participation is required on at least three days throughout the session. Participation includes your initial post and two additional response posts. These are minimum requirements. Be sure to follow any additional guidelines posted by the instructor.

Discussion Prompt: Different Agile Methods (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming [XP], Lean, etc.)
While many Agile frameworks share similar principles and values derived from the Agile Manifesto, there are notable differences between them in terms of structure, practices, roles, and approaches to project management. Agile frameworks exhibit key differences in methodology, focus areas, and roles, influencing how teams approach project management. Some frameworks, like Scrum and DSDM, are more prescriptive while others, such as Kanban, offer greater flexibility. The focus of each framework can vary, emphasizing different aspects of development—Scrum prioritizes team collaboration, Kanban centers on workflow management, and Extreme Programming (XP) highlights technical practices. Additionally, the roles and responsibilities within these frameworks differ; Scrum defines specific roles, whereas Kanban adopts a more role-agnostic approach. Overall, despite all Agile frameworks adhering to the principles of the Agile Manifesto, they diverge significantly in their methodologies and structures, necessitating careful selection by teams based on their context, project needs, and organizational culture. It is also common for organizations to adapt and blend elements from multiple frameworks to formulate a hybrid approach that aligns with their specific requirements.
With those things in mind, do the following in your initial post:
Compare similarities between the processes of Agile methods. Contrast the differences in methodology, focus, and structure of at least three of the frameworks. Discuss whether there can ever be a single underlying thread to all of these that you can use to be Agile while using differing methodologies.
